Dr. Duncan Omanga honoured as a Carnergie Corporation of New York Scholar at the 2018 ASA Annual Meeting

Dr. Duncan Omanga, the Head - Department of Publishing and Media studies at the Moi University's School of Information Sciences was on 2nd December 2018 honoured as one of 9 outstanding Carnegie Corporation of New York (CCNY) network of African scholars.

Dr. Omanga is currently on a visiting fellowship at the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom), with the Centre for Governance and Human Rights (Department of Political Science and  International Studies-POLIS).

The award entailed participation in two CCNY supported panels at the just ended African Studies Association, in Atlanta, Georgia. His current research is on digital media, surveillance and  the securitisation of previously ungoverned spaces in Nairobi.
